Thanfully I was hunted behind the house today cause I woke up late. Thought it was going to be a bad day. Got down in the blind at 7:00, then realized I forgot my calls in the rush. Well decided I would see what happened. Had 3 gaddy hens and one drake come to the spread alone, then had the two widgeons come down then pop up and circle. Did it one more time and I thought what the heck, tried to mimmick a mallard call by mouth, and boy here they came. Talk about a rush

thats awesome. congrats.
i would have tried a wigeon whistle with my mouth before i attempted to do a mallard hen.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Well, it's my first year hunting and still don't know all the sounds they make. Mallards are about all I knew that I might have a chance and got lucky. Probably lucky I forgot the call, I can make a coyote call sing but when I hit the duck call, the ducks seem to grab a gear on the way out of town. lol
