I am thinking about going on a hunt that has both, Asian watter buffalo and Bison. have any of you guys eaten both? How do they compair to each other? I have never had either but I have had elk and alot of mule deer. How does the buffalo meat compare to deer/elk/beef? Thank you

Never had water buffalo, but bison is probably one of the best meats I have had.

Okay, I've had a Bison Ribeye that I cooked on the grill at the house. It was as good or better than any beef ribeye I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of them. Ruth Chris's, Texas De Brazil, Del Frisco's, all them. It was very tender and had a wonderful flavor.

I've had both and they are both good. Bison works real good with chili because it maintains its texture. The African water buffalo I had ground and was very flavorful. If I had my pick, I'd shoot a bison. If you look at the prices at Whole Foods, they are proud of their bison. Much more expensive than yard beef.

Bison is awesome meat. I did find that it seems to take longer to cook. Even longer than beef. Grilled a buff tenderloin and it took a long while to get to medium rare, lol. Don't know why though.

Bison is excelent meat, but if it is an older animal you better get a grubbing hoe to tender it up.
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

Water buffalo is awesome. Little more fat than bison but better flavor. I ate a lot of it when I was in the South East Asia.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
