Miles and miles of flooded millet with endless green.

Prolly Kelly...I guess there are no birds on Texoma this year or Rob would be posting pictures. That or posting all those pictures finally burnt him

and no there are literally ZERO non marina ducks on the lake. Lake level is down 5-6 ft. You would be hunting on mud with no cover. Good news is they can only hit the ponds around the lake. You will be on a pond :-)

Are you talking hunting Texoma or the river? Or hunting small tanks that border the lake?
Big difference.

That fact took care of the people. Saw NO other boats the weekend of Thanksgiving. This report from the ODWC helped also http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/hunting/wf_count.htmWent from the best September Teal season to no water and no birds. I still have hope for January. The cove JJ hunted on Texoma has been closed by the Army Corps for a New Golf Coarse.

He isn't kidding there is no habitat on that lake right now and no birds. Water was up all spring and summer and came down fast after teal season and is still dropping. Nothing could grow under the water and when it finally did start dropping we had an early freeze in September that stopped stuff from growing. Its like a perfect storm of bad duck habitat.
"Texoma – Zone 2: Water level is 6.5 feet below normal. Habitat conditions are poor, but a rise in water level would flood Japanese millet and native vegetation. Duck and goose numbers are very low. Hunter activity and success is low. Birds are not stopping due to poor habitat conditions."
Don't take our word for it this is what OWD had to say about it.
With no rain in the forecast I'll be burning gas to get after ducks this year.

I was just up in gordonville building a blind. We slayed all season last year on ponds by the lake. They're dry this year. If he's got water you should be in business.
Thanks for all the positive THF support. Y'all are awesome.

JJ will put you on the birds and frankly unless you really want the extra work hunting the lake one of his properties is the way to go.
He will drop you off at the blind, make you breakfast, coffee and donuts, turn the tv on along with the heater, plug in the electric blankets, and then he will retreive the birds like a champion olympic swimmer and that alone is something to see....
OH by the way I have him scheduled for the 27th at the big pool, I think he is dong the 200m breast stroke....

You know I am a DIY kinda hunter, but when you put it that way it makes me think that the first season after I retire, I will book a two day hunt for every week of season in that year, but with a different outfitter in Texas for each week and spread across all parts of the state. Just spoil myself one year. Probably cheaper than what some of you guys pay for leases. And it may be even cheaper than some of you public guys with boats to pay for and maintain, scouting expenses, and especially fuel.

I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.
