Howdy all !
I am using a single stage press and am having a problem with my primer cap.
It seems like on some cases the primer will not seat in the flash hole, it either won't go in or partially goes in, then the next several go smooth as you please.
Do I need to get a new primer pocket or is there something else wrong ?

M, I don't mean to be critical but in the interest of helping you out you'll need to communicate with a little more precision. The primer fits in the primer pocket. The hole in the primer pocket is the "flash hole." I (and I suspect most of us who would like to help) have no idea what you mean by "primer cap."

Has your brass been reloaded before?

No worries about being critical. The little arm on my reloader that I put the primer in to go into the casing is what I am talking about, if that makes sense.
Put a new one on my reloader tonight and I am having the same problem , but with less frequency , I am wondering if I might have got a big handfull of military brass in with the other stuff, and maybe the military crimp is what I am dealing with ?
It is .223 ammo .

You might be onto it right there.

Try separating by headstamp and using only commercial brass for a while. There ARE Winchester and Federal military cases outs there, they are usually stamped WCC and FC, respectively. LC is the Lake City headstamp and virtually all brass with this headstamp will have the military primer crimp.

The primer crimp can be removed but it is a PITA to deal with.
