Looking into a ruger sp101 357M/38spl with the 4.2 inch barrel. Anybody know anything about these, have one, or have shot one?

I have one in 2.25", and it is an absolute tank of a gun. I shoot some rip-snortin loads out of her, and she doesn't even flinch. Here's a good article on the 4.2"

Personally, I don't like the tall fiber-optic front sight on the 4.2" model. It looks like it would get bent or broken too easy.

I got one when they first came out. Still have it. Great, practical firearm.

They are tanks for sure. You can't go wrong with a Ruger revolver.
