How's everyone doing today? I have a little subject I want to talk to everyone about who hunts in Texas. Its December and where I'm at the high has been 82 for the last couple of days. That's high for December. Anyway where I hunt it has gotten down to the 30s but it's been the high 30s. this weekend I'm going out and the low is 59. It's crazy. but I just wanted to see how everyone's hunting season is going with this heat. Has it been better or worse? And do y'all like it or no?

You don't always see something or get a shot. That's why they call it hunting, not killing.

I killed a nice ten point the first week of gun season. Not much seen after that. Acorns, heat, full moon = not much movement. Deer processor I use says this is the worst year she can remember.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

I have logged 21 hunts this season and I have seen two 4 points close enough to shoot if they were legal, of course they were not. One doe moving thru the trees at about 225 yards for about two seconds and that is that. I'm down right disgusted with what AR's have done to my area's that I hunt. I hope the rest of you have had better luck

Our place has been spotty but the two weekends ago when it got cold on that Saturday, deer were moving all over the place. Shot a real nice one on that cold morning. Weather has been terrible and keeping the deer from moving during hunting hours. Good luck and keep with it, hopefully conditions change.

I've seen more bucks this year than in the past two years. Lots of doe but not as many as last year. I seem to be doing well and could have taken a shot on every hunt, but I have pretty much given up on the feeders and moved to the deer.
It's been two weeks since I've been out so we'll see how next week goes. I do miss the cooler weather though.

I never had a problem shooting nice bucks before AR's were implemented. Now 5 years into the program i cant even see a doe. Seems to me there should be a surplus of older bucks. well guess again the last buck I shot was 2007 16" and 4 years old. The last legal buck i have seen.

I have seen so many freakin' deer this season that it is unreal. Cold, hot, full moon, no moon, it just hasn't made any difference. But, I am hunting on a property that has never been hunted and I keep my activities to a minimum on the property.
Born to hunt and fish.

Good season, got an 11, 10, and a nice doe. But, windy, warm weather has increased night movement. I caught the seek & chase of the rut, and st a lot of hours to get those bucks!

Ive seen plenty of deer this season but only one legal buck and it was a spike. It was old though so I took it. After that they've just been small 4 points none legal. The biggest/meatiest deer I've seen this year was a doe. I'm going out this weekend so we will see what's new.

I have seen LOTS of 4-point bucks and quite a few doe this year. In addition, I have seen one 8 and one 10 point but they were not close enough to attempt getting an arrow into them. I see the most movement from 8-10 a.m. in the mornings. Movement does seem to be better when on the cooler mornings but they are also moving some on the warmer mornings also. But I am setup on a main path between their bedding area, a couple winter wheat fields, and water is not too far away.
