Would like to texas rig my new decoys but also would like to put them in the decoy bag. Is this going to be as big of a pain in the [censored] as I think it is? Any of y'all ever tried to do this?

I do this it makes it much easier to carry them in and out and keeps thwm from getting beat up so bad, its not too much of a pain to get them in the bag.

It's a huge pain from my experience. I did it to keep them together on the back of a kayak. I should have just got a bottom loading bag or cut one to be a bottom loader.

When you first start tex-rigging you want to put in bag, it is natural, the decoy bag is like a security blanket lol. Really tho, use tex rig for its advantage, blow off the decoy bag, you don’t need it. It takes too much time. It takes a while to get use to tx-rig and maximize its simplicity.
I got a set-up for decoy bag, but it is not tex rig. Long decoy lines for deep water, here you need decoy bag. If I have nice deeks I’m worried about, I would put them in those slot decoy bags.

My brother has his in a bag. I borrowed them last weekend, and actually liked it. It's one of those round self standing/collapsable bags. It wasn't hard at all to get them out and put them back in.

they go in the bag fine
don't think your going to hold them up dozen at a time and drop them in
they have to go in one or two at a time
but the bag works fine

I'm with Guy on this one. Ditch the bag if you tx rig them. You will sooner or later anyways.
If you really need them protected put them in slotted bags.

I'm opposite of some of you fellas. I didn't use to put my rigs in bags. But I don't think I will go back.

This is what I use from Drake, and it works great. Even has rings on the outside of the bag to clip your carabineer to.

It is a lot easier to carry all the gear and more decoys if you can put a couple dozen on your back (in a decoy bag).
I put all my teal on a clip (~30), tie a knot to bunch them, then run it through a hole in the bottom of a large decoy bag. Then, I stuff them a few at a time until they are all in. I also have room for my blind bag, some camo netting and my harvest for the day in the decoy bag. All that can go on my back leaving hands free for a couple dozen more tx rigged decoys in my hands, and gun on my shoulder.
Hiking in is the only time I mess with a decoy bag on my tx rigged decoys. Big duck decoys are kinda a pain to bag.

Thanks fellas. I'm gonna try the bag and see how it works. A few of the places I hunt have 1.5+ mile walks.

If you don't do your Texas rigs like they make them it is possible to put them in a normal bag instead of the round ones I find it hard to carry them it just feels awkward. What you can do is take your weight and crimp it with a hog tie (that they use for metal fences) and use your line from rope. You might have to drill a bigger hole in the keel but I promise they will never tangle and you can just throw them in a normal bag. Just make sure before you put the decoys in the bag that all weights are pulled up to the body

I don't know why you want them in a bag. The whole idea is to get away from the bags on the first place. When I was walking in, two of us could carry 8 to 10 dozen. 4 folding chairs, 4 blind bags loaded and two mojos.
Make one of your mojo poles out of a closet dowel rod. Load all the decoys, stools blind bags on that dowel rod. Two pick it up and put on your shoulders. I can't tell you how many miles we trudged that way. I just could not convince the woman they were supposed to be helping.
