Plenty of mulies in Glasscock co., but no season. Have one old old buck that has been on camera for the past 7 years and counting that is called Eeyore.

Maybe due to the drought the Mulie's have moved from Fisher to Taylor county? Be worth talkin to the TPW officer.

last years fires displaced lots of animals That's OK. Once they move into a new area, they will start to thrive.

I've seen two in the last 5 years. Saw a doe in 2007...watched her for 15 or 20 minutes cross a wheat field then drove up on her and she took off with the tell tale mule deer bounce. Saw a little buck last year. He stinted off into the sunset as well. 15 miles south of abilene.

There used to be a season in Coke county. Texanna ranch north off Bronte has had mulies for 30 years. Good to see them spreading out

Why in the world would you shoot a mule deer that young? He was not even close to his potential!!!

Checked my camera today after a week off from hunting and found this buck from last night. Goofy looking rack and a huge body. Twice as heavy as any other deer I've see. On camera. Funny thing is I hunt about 10 miles south east of the Abilene Airport. I thought it might be a mule deer. Any thoughts?? That is a Muledeer.

Sounds like an expensive mistake... Game Warden involved I assume?

Basehitcamp,I would wager he knows a mule deer from a whitetail now if the GW caught him. I hope they expand into this part of the country, would love to be able to hunt them before I get too old.

Mule deer bucks, when they disperse, generally only move a couple of miles but occasionally they will travel hundreds of miles. Every couple of years one is shot in Minnesota. The closest established population is west of the Missouri river in North and South Dakota. It's not an territory expansion until you start seeing does.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
