I know not to get too anxious before Thanksgiving, but it just sucks putting in so much time and not seeing a damn thing!! Heck, most of the big bucks I've shot are late in December

We've killed our does, saw a 3 yr old 10 still chasing hard wed. morning. That evening my lil sis and son sat in a different area, that we've never hunted. They claim to have seen a whopper, but couldn't close the distance in time. A lot of people wouldn't give a young women and kid credibility, but they've seen some good bucks, neither even flinch when the 3 yr old 10 came out. From their description this new buck will break 150 for sure.

Very nice bucks! I shot a 12 point drop tine buck 3 years ago that had crab claw brows exactly like yours.

By himself. I haven't seen any bucks chasing doe around there. He walked to a feeder, stayed maybe 40 seconds and then disappeared into the shinery.

Would you say the rut hasn't really started around us yet?? In my opinion, we're still in pre-rut stage. Your thoughts?

We're N.W. of Noodle a couple of miles into Fisher Co. and I haven't seen any bucks chasing yet. Got a few decent deer on camera and I took a big doe last weekend, but haven't seen a decent buck in range yet.

Old age ain't for sissies!

Was nearly sure it was over, but grunted and bleated in a big 8 with a huge swollen neck last night. My bucks near palava have been chasing hard for 3 weeks.

I don't think it's on just yet. Last year it seemed like it was over by this time. I hunt three different spots around here all about 10 miles apart. Have seen zero rut activity at all three locations.

I went out late yesterday evening and rattled in a huge spike and a pretty nice 10 point. Had pics of that huge 12 point out in daylight 2 days ago, so I'm gonna go try to ground check him this weekend!

I went out yesterday evening and this morning and I saw 6-7 different bucks chasing the hell out of all the doe in the field. That's 5 more bucks than I have seen the rest of the hunting year. The rut is definitely in full swing right now in northwest Jones county. I had 2 nice 8's start sparring in front of the doe as well, pretty cool to see. The deer were moving well into the late morning even with gusty winds. Good luck this weekend!

I need to start hunting deer harder. But it's been a tough choice choosing between either the deer or ducks.
