Started off good and cold and bucks chasing on the Sat opener. Passed on some young bucks that morning and shot my doe at 82 yds. Sun-Mon I did not see a buck. Tues I sat in stand until 8:30 am and then went on a hike. Topped my second ridge and spotted a mature buck at bottom of valley (photo below), about 225-250 yds, walking broadside toward trees. I ran to a boulder, used it as a rest. Third coyote bark stopped him and I let my .30-06 speak. Tagged out.
