I'm sure he didn't pay a dime for that beast. The publicity for the ranch where he shot it was probably more than enough payment.
I do like his shirt though. I bet he has never had to pay for a hunt since he took office. Even if the ranch didn't give it to him free for publicity, a lobbyist will pick up the tab.

Great buck....and it was killed at the Star S Ranch in Mason, TX: http://www.star-s-ranch.com/I've hunted there and he couldn't have picked a better place. Outstanding operation!! Here's a pic we took in front of the same wall last year on a corporate hunt...  Dang... looks like that dude gut shot that deer in your picture. Well the buck was quartering to us when he shot, but yes...the exit wound was a little far back.

My Dad used to guide hunts and work on the Hendricks Ranch where Perry used to hunt back in the 70's-80's. Said he would always stop and shoot the breeze with him and even helped him clean a few deer over the years. My good friends Dad was his roomate at A&M also. He's always been a bigtime hunter.
