Planning my first trip to Africa. Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with outfitters? Or anything in general I should know.

I can help you if you want to book through us. We have 4 very reputable outfitters in Africa that we book for and have even flimed shows at one of them. We have many references available for each place. We will help handle everything from the flights to the Trip and everything in between. This service is of no cost to you at all. The prices are the same as anyone else would pay as well, in fact at times we get discounted trip from our outfitters that are not made public.

I recommend you speak with the guys in the Eastern Cape of South Africa at Blaauwkrantz Safaris: http://www.blaauwkrantz.com/I know many people who have hunted with them, and everyone speaks very highly of their operation.

In SA, I'd also suggest Two Water's Safari. Great people and great prices on their hunts. I plan on using them again next summer. http://twowaters.co.za/

I think you get your most bang for the buck by hunting in the East Cape Province of South Africa.
You'll probably fly to Atlanta and from there non-stop to Johannesburg (JNB) arriving around 5:30PM. Best to spend a night there after the long flight, and then catch a flight the next morning to Port Elizabeth (if you take my advice to hunt the East Cape). The two most hunter-friendly places to stay in JNB are Afton Guest House and Africa Sky Guest House.

Hi, I bow hunted with motsomi safari's in SouthAfrica. It was top notch from beginning to end. The accomodations were top notch and the quality of game was high. To top things off it cost much less than most of the elk hunts I have been on. Needless to say I am going back again in 13. Gotta get that monster kudu that haunts my dreams.
