I have heard a sound several times around my house this year late in the evening that kinda sounds like a deer blowing. This evening while hunting i heard this sound all around me. Thought it was a deer at first but after listening closely it had a different sound. Hard to explain but like a deer blowing mixed with a scream. Any ideas. Bird? Sasquatch? Chupacabra?

Hearing the sound in northeast texas. Cass county Pretty close to Boggy Creek....maybe the "monster". Could be a whole family of them. You might see if you can find some DNA for a study I've been reading a lot about lately.

I hear and see crows all the time on our property that sound like a cross between a doe bleat and a baby crying. I know it sounds strange but it is a crow i see it with my own eyes.

Crows and ravens can make some of the weirdest sounds you can imagine. I was hunting in Utah on a clear, still morning and I kept hearing a "bloop" sound like a drop of water falling into a half full bucket, but the sound kept moving around. I finally pinpointed it and it was coming from a raven.
Silver spurs and gold tequila
keep me hanging on.
Pretty girls and old cantinas
give me shelter from the storm.

Hearing the sound in northeast texas. Cass county I was raised in Cass County. It's a possum. Well, Opossum, but who says the "O" anyway.

I just thought of a couple more - hard to tell by your description... A rabbit makes a "scream" and so does a fox.

Probably a yellow-crowned night heron. Hear them in my neighborhood quite often.

I done some research and some say it is a brown thrasher or wood thrush. Hunted same stand this evening snd dd not hear them. Shot a nice hog though.

Congrats on the hog.  Does the animal make a sound like "Reeeeeek!" with sort of a shriek?

No sounds like a deer blowing but it gets louder toward the end which makes it sound kinda like a scream. I have heard it here around the house in the evening but first time in the woods. Its weird and hard to explain. Wish i could explain it better.

My description is not that good either. Grey foxes start mating in late November early December and the mating call is a strange shriek or scream.
