Hey guys I have a hunt just outside of Brownwood starting a week from Monday, wondering if any of you can suggest a really good processor in Brownwood, going to be hunting for 3 days and don't have access to a walk in cooler so need to have them processed locally.....
Thanks

If the temps are cool enough (haven't checked the forecast) you might be able to hang one in the shade. That or just quarter and throw in a large ice chest. That way you can bring to Dallas and it will be easier to pick up when ready.

If you're willing to drive to Cross Plains, Mike and Ed's has a lot of followers.

This is a TPWD drawn hunt in the state park, so skinning & quartering the deer on site is NOT an option, they will not allow us to hang deer or process on site, it's in the rules for the hunt! You have to take the deer to a processor or find cold storage off site until you leave for home, I also do not have room in my suburban for either an unprocessed deer carcase or the coolers needed for possibly up to 3 deer!

I'll assume that your use of the exclamation point is either because you are excited about the hunt or frustrated with the rules. Surely, you are not such a fool as to express frustration with someone who was merely trying to save you money. On the other hand, if you are such a fool, your original question is premature. Such a fool wouldn't be needing a processor. But, again, hopefully, for your sake, that's not you. BTW, on my last drawn hunt, my buck dressed out at just under 190 lbs. That would equal about 2 Hill Country deer. It was quite easy to transport it in one large cooler in my 4Runner. There was plenty of room for another deer. Again, just trying to help...it's up to you to receive.

M&M in Zephyr is dang good and resonably priced processor. I hunt and Southern Mills county and have 2 processors less than half the distance from me than M&M, but I still make the drive there over them. Nice people.
