Any good deals for this madhouse sale event? I think academy has the Taurus pt92 for sale for $327 or so, not a huge savings from what can be had on the internet.

Best deals I've seen were Cabelas, Sav 11-111 combo for 399.00 & Ruger American rifle for 399.00

I would take a Taurus for free, the pt92 I have shot was very accurate and didn't have any malfunctions. Not sure I'd spend over $300 on one though

Dick's deal on the rem. 700 varmint for 449, then 100 mail in rebate plus I think an additional 40 from remington...gun comes out to 309. 4 calibers to choose from.

If your shopping for an AR, they are offering the Troy for 699, i think. Normally 1100.

Im thinking about the 700 in 22-250 or 223.

Nope, only in person. Its not worth the hassle, if it not a great deal. Cabela's has better everyday prices, and generally nicer and more knowledgable staff.

I picked up the Rossi .44mag at academy. Seems to be well made. Actually has a pretty nice trigger in DA and SA.
I buy a gun every Black Friday.

was at academy today not bad, only problem was the backgound system was having issues and they had to shut down the gun sales for awhile, good thing ws if you had a chl you walked to the front of the line and out the door, and I picked up two of the 22s they had on sale.

Picked up a Troy at Dicks, haven't shot it yet but seems like a solid little rifle.

Not to disparage anyone here who is willing to brave the insanity that begins now...but I sure am not willing to do it. People tend to get downright nasty this time of year in the big stores and anyplace offering a deal and it's a cryin' shame. I'm thinking about all the crazy Black Friday headlines I've seen the last couple of days...the commercialization of the season has turned it on its head and choked the spirit of Christmas to death. It's just downright sad.
