I think everyone would be interested in this. I am actually going to my lease tomorrow and have decided against filling my feeders till August due to corn prices being what they are. I typically feed just enough year round so they know it's there.

I just went to acadamey, and didn't see any corn at all.

Haven't heard or read anything about a "CORN REPLACEMENT" program! ! !

I do know that some of the stores are short on supply right now because bulk supply levels have been slow from the vendors.

Corn wont be any cheaper come deer season, might as well get some NOW before its too much to even buy.

This year I plan on filling my feeder about a month before the season, and have it feed only a few seconds when it does.

When I go to hunt I will have a tailgate feeder and feed my sendero's whenever I plan to hunt, and that's it.

The way we fed corn before I think it was wasted on all the other critters out there, and the deer never did eat that much anyway.

Give them a taste of it now and then, and I think you will have just a good luck as before, and maybe better, because it will be a treat when they get it.

Too bad the farmers are not seeing an extra dime from this recent price increase. After the floods and recent rise in fuel costs i would expect to pay more for corn next year!! the corn we buy now was grown last year (which was a bumper crop) so the farmers sold lower per bushel and now the retailers are cashing in. In brady it jumped 2 dollars in a day!

I guess buying low and selling high is the American way, but it just does not seem right when its the farmers and hunters getting screwed.

Maybe if we(Texas hunters)stop paying so much for leases and now corn prices will eventually come back down where they should be.

8$ a bag in dorchester grain if anyone knows where that is. they will sell it for $7 (50 lbs) if you have your own container.

I looked into the system today at Academy and there really is a corn replacement item in the computer for 5.99 but there are non in stock at any store or the distribution center so im not sure what the deal is with it.

We finally got the "official" word about the "corn replacement" product. It is made by WILDLIFE INNOVATIONS and is marketed as FLEX CORN! The product is made from the "leftovers" from the corn kernels; it is mixed with molasses, shaped into a pellet and coated to reduce moisture.

It will be sold in 30# bags for $5.99/bag and will coming to our stores within the next two weeks!

We will also be selling two more new items:
1) RUT 'N APPLES - apple bits formed into chips
2) FEEDER FAT - a powder supplement similar to Acorn Rage

Some replacement! 60 pounds for $12. might as well stick with corn. I know the deer like corn.
