Justin..i now know why yall have the 12 volt feeders..any help would be appreciated!....Garry I had one of my HCR's act up earlier this year. It was almost 10 years old and I was in a pinch for time so I replaced it with a 12 volt Wild Game Innovations unit at Academy to get through the year. After over 2 months I am really liking this unit. You can set each feeding for different lengths of time and each feeding for Hi/Med/Low RPM's to really fine tune the amount of corn you throw. Let me say I am by no means a WGI fan. I do think this is a really good feeder for the price based on my limited use with it so far. Only time will tell but so far my expectations have been exceeded with this unit. I figure if and when the timer goes out I will just replace it with a higher quality timer because thats usually the weak point of all feeders any way. Best of all the feeder fit the same brackets that I had mounted for the HCR so all I had to do was un-do two wing nuts and pop it into place. Funny thing is I cant get that HCR to act up any more.

Many yrs. ago when I hunted w/the Beisenbach Bros. down toward Pearsall we built our own feeders from 55 gal. drums w/a lid in the side of the drum at the bottom for our homemade timers and a 12 volt car or inland marine battery. They went yr. round and we charged the batterys every 6 mos. They would sling corn over 20 ft. usually..We use a forcing cone in the drum w/a tube dwn to the plate spindle w/the mtr under it. Never had an animal bother anything, but we had "T" post fence w/ panel wire low around them to keep the cows off..The corn went further so we got hogs also. I think the times costs us about $50 bucks to built, and the drum, mtrs, legs ect ran all a little over $100 tops..so about 150 to 160 and the timer was stout and simple..had dials, no programming..Don

We been using Magnum products for at least 15 years, just put in a new batery every 2 years, and they work fine

I run at least 10 feeders on 2 different places twice a day all year long I only use 6 volt usually wildgame innovations digital timers with 6 volt sealed rechargeable batteries with the slide on prongs on top not the spring tops and a wildgame innovations crystalline solar panel on each of them and I rarely ever have any problems they only seem to sling slowly when the battery is low usually because the clip to the solar panel slipped off when I close the timer box.
It doesn't seem like your motor is the problem it sounds like your battery is low but that's just an outside observation.
