THIS!

Maybe even older than 5 IMO.

He is at least 5.5. I don't have the rush anymore either. They are like cattle to me, I would rather see a kid or a first time hunter kill a deer than shoot one myself.

How big a place are you on? I know way too many people hunting 25-50 that see big deer out there yet it always seems the neighbor gets them. That deer is a walking target, Id a shot him... and im at the ripe old age of 26, your a mear whiper snapper at 23 roflmao

He'd be a little more exciting with a bow in my hand. I've had this deer at 40 yards on four different occasions now and just won't pull the trigger. We're on a little over 400 acres. Most reliable deer on the place in regards to where you'll see him. I imagine that will change when the rut really starts to kick in. I've got pictures of a younger promising looking ten pointer I'll post this evening.

Drought really took a toll on adult deer mortality last year. I'm seeing about half as many deer as I'm used to (which I expect will be a good thing over time). Haven't seen a single doe come to a feeder with twins.

Kudos to you for passing him to give another hunter a chance. When you come to understand that you aren't the most important person you know, hunting takes on a whole new perspective.

here's a 3.5 year old ten point we're passing on this year. he'll be a nice one next year if he stays in the relative safety of our place. If he decides to roam, he may get shot based strictly on the fact that he has 10 points. Most promising deer I've seen out there.

That looks like a mature deer to me. Never seen a 3 yr old with a brisket and shoulders that muscled.

If he's older, I'm wondering how old the two six points I saw with him are. He looked like he only had a years worth of progression on his body size/neck muscling than the six pointers I aged at 2.5. Maybe all the time I spent on the Comanche where they fed as much free choice protein pellets and cottonseed a deer could ever want has messed up my aging on the hoof some.

Don't have pictures of the six points to compare unfortunately.

I'm starting to second guess myself. Pictures don't lie, but neither the 120 inch 8 or the 10 pointer I posted pictures of seemed as impressive/thick when viewing them in person. I certainly think the 10 will benefit from another year of growth. If someone else had posted the picture of the 10 point, I'd definitely give him 4.5, but after seeing the deer in person, it was hard for me to do so.

I can clearly see the 8 pointer needing to be taken this season by someone. I had a promising nine pointer out there too, but haven't seen him since late mid October when looking for exotics to harvest.

Maybe when I grow up I'd be able to let that buck walk... I do appreciate your will power. Nice buck!

IMO I would let the 10 walk for another year. I'm willing to bet he puts on a few inches, if weather/rain/food/etc, permit. Then...... rifle

He is definitely fully mature I would say he is 6 / 6.5

The eight is the one I'm putting at 6 / 6.5 the second one I agree is at least 4.5 , shoulders and brisket are definite giveaways compare him to the eight and you can see a couple years difference.
