Didn't see any at all during opening weekend, but last Wednesday, the bucks were chasing the does like crazy. Saw 7 different bucks during the morning hunt. Don't know what has been going on this past weekend though...

Over the past 10 years, I always see the bucks chasing hard during the week of November 12.

Last year it was very obvious, this year it has been very sporadic. Seen the young ones chasing allot. But still have multiple bucks and does on camera at the feeder together. Can’t tell if there still gearing up or done for now.

Seems like there winding down where im at. Seemed to start earlier this year saw chasing the last week of bow season and peaked the first week of rifle. My bucks are now coming out might try to run a doe for a minute or 2 and then go to feeding, bucks and does all out there feeding together.

It looked like it was getting started a couple of weeks ago and now nothing. I'm seeing deer, wife shot her first buck Sat(a spike with one side broken off we named him Dagger) and his tarsal glands were bone dry with no odor. I don't know if that's a function of the broken antler or what. Seeing lots of rubs and scrapes but the scrapes are not being tended so maybe it is over.

Hunted Mon through Thurs. last week N of Jacksboro off 148. Mon. evening rattled up a 6 point to within 20 ft. Passed on 2 legal 8's, a 10 and 2 legal 6's that were all young. Killed an old 18 inch wide 8 point Wed. Morning I have never seen on cam before.. Saw lots of chasing, but also lots of buck together and lots of does. All went to the feeder and hand corned roads. Best weather and consecutive days of hunting I have had in a while. Saw prolly 40 + deer..

I hunt north of Jacksboro off of 59. This past weekend we had 4 bucks chasing one doe for about 15 minutes about 50 yards from front door of camp. It was fun watching the chase. Spike, 4-5pt, 6pt and 8pt all chasing one doe. At one point, I could hear the doe gasping for air as her mouth was wide open as she took a 2 second break.

Next morning, saw a number of bucks on the fast trot looking for some loving. This was Saturday and Sunday.

I hunted Friday thru this morning and I think they are rutting but the heat is keeping them primarily active at night, early or late. Driving in from the stand sun night I saw deer moving everywhere after a very slow day. Hoping cold front will make this weekend better.
