Wal-Mart has an ad running urging you to shop local for your opening week supplies. I assume they want you to make sure you buy all your made-in-china supplies from your local Wal-Mart store before you go out and shoot your made-in China deer? Ooops, guess the deer didn’t come from China but I don’t think it is native to my Back Forty... or any where else on my side of the ocean. Don’t you love those NYC ad agencies?

lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Had bbq the other day from Kreus Market in Lockhart. My wife ordered a bottle of coke...
Hecho in Mexico.
All the print on the bottle was in spanish too. The only non-hispanic guy in the place said that is where his distributor gets them from b/c of the price. Un-fing-believable. At least the tea was made local but the leaves are probably from China...

It is made from cane sugar, has a different flavor, and is in glass bottles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Coke
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Gringo just saw single 16 oz. glass bottles at Kroger for $1.00. That's cheaper than the $1.29 for the single 20 oz. plastic bottle in the cooler in the checkout line. Never said it was made the same or had the same flavor.
BTW, it was the same price as the other sodas at Kreuz. Closest bottling plant is in San Antonio. Why does Kreuz only have Mexican Coke if local Coke is cheaper?
Anyway, Lockhart, Tx, BBQ capital of Texas and all they have is Mexican Coke... Just saying. How about some Coke made in the US. Corn syrup and all...

I'm with ya. I wish we would completely overhaul our nations immigration and importing laws. Just saying Mexican Coke is like Mexican beer, it ain't necessarily here cause it's cheaper. For BBQ I am more of a Black's guy over Kreuz, and give me a Shiner with my beef rib
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

16oz@$1.00 is the same as 20oz@$1.29 It used to be a special treat like Dublin Dr.Pepper before my blood surgar got in the way. Now it is diet coke and green beans.

Here in Abilene i can buy a large bottle of Mexican Coke for 99cents plus tax, where an American version in a cheesy plastic bottle costs me $1.79 plus tax. If you're paying more for Mexican coke, you're getting screwed.

Either way, I don't think it is there b/c of the price. Mex. Coke is made w/ sugarcane like the original Cokes. The US Cokes are sweetened w/ corn syrup. They do not taste the same, and I know a lot of people who think the Mex cokes are much better. I don't care, don't mix my Crown w/ either one.

If Mex. Coke has sugarcane and U.S. Coke has corn sweetener, what does Colombian Coke have in it?
