Tried me some new ammo in the .270 today...Federal Fusion 130g. They zero'd in easily with groups under 1" at 100 yards. Didn't take long this afternoon when this spike came through waited about 15 minutes to see if Mr. Nasty would come join him but when he didn't, POW! Right in the kisser...well, almost. This thing ripped a massive hole in his neck and dropped him instantly. Never seen a .270 round leave that kind of wound. All my buddies asked if I shot em with a .50 Cal. Lol!!!

I love Fusion ammo. My daughter shoots it in her .243 with great results. You could have gotten away with telling jscon you were a real hunter and jumped on it out of a tree and cut its throat.
All ready

My wife uses it exclusively in her 7-08. It has proven very accurate. She has also taken two bucks with it in the last 10 ten days taking the heart out of both and leaving nice exit wounds. No trackers needed, she watched both bucks go down.

Cull buck I let a buddy kill with my .270 Win several years ago. 275 yards with 140g BTSP Hornady Light Magnum.

My AR handles the .308 Fusion very well. I don't even bother with reloading that caliber.

Very nice wound channel. I have always preferred Federal Premium ammo with the sierra gameking 165gr btsp but bought several boxes of the Fusion on sale for my 30-06 and have yet to check the accuracy in my gun. Will now fo sho.

Good Spike..great that you removed him..the wound channel is why I quit shooting that type of ammo..Hornady ect..I now use only Barnes X solid copper..shot a doe first day looking at me..ctr of the neck exited about 6 in down her backstraps area from the spine and no meat damage..I/we still eat them and I cannot always get a head or neck shot..but do most times..then the type of projectile only matters if the deer isn't DRT..Keep after those Spikes..I think they should give every hunter that kills one two extra tags for each spike..DD

I have no issues with this ammo, always does the trick. One factoid for you though, i use the 270, 150Gr. The last 2 bucks i have taken i have had to look for the exit holes.. They have both dropped in their tracks. I confirmed upon dressing that both bucks were shot between ribs on one side and exited between ribs on the other. Last years deer did not even have blood coming out of the exit wound...

I tried 130 gr Fusion in my .270, but it wouldn't shoot it worth a darn. A buddy uses the same ammo in his .270 and it shoots lights out. When I couldn't get the Fusion to group I got some cheaper Federal blue box and almost put 3 shots in one hole.

My wife shoots the fusion in both her .243 and her 7-08. Great shell and price is nicer too for those of us that do not hand load.

I used the 150gr fusion in my .270 for a coule of years now. I thought it to be very accurate and dropped a deer at 150yrd dead in it's tracks. I was very impressed with the ammo, I switched from the remmy cor-lokts as I have deer run off when hit, or the deer drop only to recover and run off.I think the federal fusion is good stuff, I even killed two hogs with one round before.lol

I have used Federal Fusion ammo in my 30.06 for three years now. I have a Remington 700 ADL and a Ruger American both in 30.06 and they both shoot the fusion very accurately. I use the 165 grain and I have shot four deer (two bucks, two does) in the past three years with the Fusion. None of the deer ran over 20 yards from where there were when I shot them, and two one them, one of the bucks and one of the does, dropped right where I shot them. I really like the Fusion ammo, and have been very happy with the results so far.

That is all I use never had a problem until recently. Some of the casings didn't feel quite right when racking in and closing the bolt causing the bullet to slide right about 3 inches. About half the box were that way. Still I managed to whack a 176 whitetail at a 457 yds. So needless to say they are bad to the bone
