I am new to the site and first year hunting in Hood County and would like to see whats around here thanks .

Some of the biggest deer I've seen were in Hood County, but they were on a 26,000 acre ranch with little hunting pressure. Never could get a decent pic.

I hog hunt on a ranch in Hood County and I've seen some really nice bucks on that place. Unfortunately, I can only hunt hogs and varmints.

Hood cty has some great deer. If you can hunt near Pecan plantation, you are in hog heaven. Obviously the larger ranches will have the best hunting. However, some big boys can be had even on some of the smaller tracts. AR's have made the difference IMO. 
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
