If you hunt with your black rifle, what scope do you have on it, or do you prefer to hunt open sites on it?

I haven't killed any animals with it yet but I'll use it for hogs when deer season rolls around. I shoot the 55 gr SP. I tried a scope for a while but found that I prefer open sights. All my shots will be limited to 50 yards or so and it's obscenely accurate at that range with open sights.
Practice doesn’t make perfect.
Practice makes permanent.

I hog hunt with my .50 Beowulf upper and an EOtech holographic red dot.
Normal .223 is a great varmint round, don't really think it's enough for hogs but just an opinion among lots.

I have a Bushmaster varminter with a 4x16x50 Burris topping it off. I have killed numerous pigs and two deer with it shooting 52 grain HP Blackhills. I also killed some pigs dead with Win. ballistic silver tips.
I have had no problem knocking down pigs with a good first shot. As far as follow up shots you better be fast and good. I never put in bigger than a 10 shot clip

Here is mine! It has a 4.5x14x40 with side focus AO Nikon Buckmasters on it! Its a great predator rifle! The picture was taken last year inside my tower stand while hunting a fresh gut pile from a deer I killed!

I use mine on hogs and even 5.56 55gr Q3131A works well.

Mine is a bushmaster predator - like the varmiter only a little shorter. It is toped with a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40. All works well. Used mostly for yotes and hogs if I have an ear shot.

Nothing came in that evening, but something ate it that night because it was gone by morning when I got there!
However I did kill a bobcat 2 days later right where the guts were so I am sure the scent was still there, and thats what brought him in! I have no idea how that cat got to where the pile was without me seeing him come in, but I just looked up and there he was sniffin around! It was snowing like crazy when I shot him too!

I sold this set up a few months ago, but I hunted with it several times and really liked it. Leupold Mark IV 3X9.

Bushmaster Varminter 24 inch fluted barrel topped with a Zeiss 4-14x50 I've killed yotes, bobcats, foxes, coons, ringtails, hogs, and deer with it. Man I love that gun

i hog hunt with my M4. i've killed hogs,coons and rabbits with it, and its a blast.
i would't mind taking a shot at a doe or something but i'm going to leave my buck hunting to my ruger or remington
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
