On stand cold and calm. Sky clear just beginning to lighten. I skinned and caped Mustafa's buck last night. Will peel head and age him today. I know he is minimum 5.5. Congrats to him on a nice
Buck.

Well, I didn't find a shooter during my hunt, but one of the guys in camp shot this guy Sunday evening. Really nice deer.....I would be proud to hang my tag on him.

Any guesses on score?

The center pic doesn't look like the same deer or I'm not seeing the split G2 in the other pics.

There isn't a split G2 in any of the pics.

OK, cool - I was visually mislead. I can see now what I thought was a split was the continuation of the main beam. My bad - looking at too many mulie pics the past few days. smile

It is a very nice buck BTW.

Heading up to Hall county/Memphis on Friday. Hope they are still running does by the time we get there. Hunting some farmland that has both WT, mulies, and hybrids. We seen some hybrids that look awesome. There's not a lot of deer where we hunt, but there are some REALLY big ones that wander through - if we time it right, we might just get an opportunity at a big WT or Mulie.

We've missed the rut and mulie season in previous years, as we typically hunt on our way to pheasant opener. But this year, with no pheasant to be had, we are focusing on the deer more. From what we have been told by the farmer, when the WT start to rut, all sorts of strange things happen. Even though the mulies don't rut until late next month, the big boy WT roaming around often harass the mulie does and get the mulie bucks upset. He has seen WT mounting mulie does, and fights between mulie and WT bucks - which you would think would be not much of a contest, but on his and surrounding farms there are honest-to-goodness 200 lb whitetail does and WT bucks in the 275 lb range. This is areas around Plaska and the PlaskaLodge (we hunt some adjacent areas to thier concessions).

Last year I saw a 150"+ WT, but it didn't come onto the property I was hunting. And I saw a mulie buck (out of season) that was pushing 300 lbs and I wouldn't even want to speculate on the spread because I would certainly be called out.
