I used to pride myself on being able to eat just blazing hot (spicy hot that is) food. Have throttled back since I am getting a bit older. BUT, my son is carrying on the tradition. He loves hot stuff, especially salsa (red/verde/combo...doesn't matter).
With that in mind, who has the best and who has the hottest?

That's a good question. The hottest salsa I ever had was from a lady selling fajita tacos from a cart on 6th street many years ago. I remember her telling me "carefull, it's hot" as I put it all over 2 tacos. after the first bite it was kill me quick hot. Of course I finished both tacos.

I can't comment on the hottest/best salsa in DFW because my daughter that lives up there takes us to the same old second rate Mexican joint every time I'm there. That said, the hottest stuff I've had was at Swick's BBQ in Groesbeck, TX. They have really good brisket there and on my first visit I got a chopped beef sandwich and some chips and sat down to eat it. The old lady working there said that the two bottles on the table were their two hot sauces - one being hot and the other being real hot. Heck, I love hot sauces, so I went for the real hot stuff. OMG. Burned me to the ground. I'd eat a while and cry a while. Man, I hate being a sissy, but I go for the less hot stuff now. That hot hot sauce is just flat mean.

7 salsas in Las Collinas may not be the hottest, but it sure is my favorite. I normally pig out on the salsa they bring to the table, but they'll bring you a bunch of variations of salsa if you ask

In Fort Worth try El Asadero on N Main. The salsa is pretty tasty. They make it everyday so it may be a bit hotter from day to day. Hot but but with good flavor. I'm not a big fan of hot for no reason without flavor.

Pollo Regio has a habanero sauce that will wake you up. Its a pale orange color at their salsa bar. Beware.

I love the salsa at Joe T. Garcia's. Lots of great flavor with a nice little burn. Not too hot by any means, however.

Martinez grill in Lewisville. Get the smooth salsa verde. To hot to eat with chips but great when you put in on fajitas or tacos. They sell it by the cup.
J TGarcias, so generic

Chubby's burger shack on the west side of Fort Worth. Good thing they have cold draft beer to counteract the bite of the salsa.
