Never thought he would go 140. I would love to let him walk another year BUT with these neighbors he is liable to get dropped this year if they see him.
We had the talk with a couple nice ten points a couple years ago and everyone agreed to let them walk... Needless to say that was the last year we saw them.

I think he is a 3 yr old and mid to upper 120's on a very nice looking buck.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I figured he was a little older. If its really 3.5 or so i wish he could make it to be 6 or so. I think he would be a damn good deer, not that it isnt already. My mind isnt made up but im thinking about letting it walk. I would just hate to do it and then have the neighbors shoot him

This could be some of their offspring. Actually hope it is but i dont think this one will make it either. I showed the pics to some local guys and they think its older than 3 but i cant see it. Maybe thats why these deer keep getting shot at a young age

I think he is no older then 4.5, probably 3.5. The deer are so healthy this year that they all have big fat bodies and are a bit harder to judge. If you like him and think the neighbors will get him if they see him then shoot him. Your call. Either way you are rolling the dice here.

Just checked the stealth cam to see if he was On the camera again and the flash stopped working at about 830 last night. Just my damn luck!
Do have a spike coming in during the day.
I made a few mock scrapes today using the tinks power scrape. Maybe it will help bring him back.

Shawn,
We're located a few miles north of Lake Fork just across the county line. I haven't seen a 10 pt yet but I'm excited about the number of young bucks with good potential that we're seeing on game cam. We've taken pics of at least eight individuals in the past three months. We did have an impressive 10pt come through toward the end of the season last year. Hopefully he's still out there spreadin some good genes.
Anyway, we're fairly new to the area. Assuming you've been hunting Hopkins County for a while, do you think the ARs have made a difference?
Just curious,
Fat

Im only 25 so i havent hunted the years most of these guys have. The ar's are kinda iffy IMO.I have seen alot nicer bucks in the area since theu have been in place but im kinda putting it toward genetics and not the AR. Good genetics = good deer. Bad genetics = a while to wait for them to be legal.

there are some really good bucks in Hopkins Co. My family hunts on 71 between Hagansport and Sulphur Bluff, they have a place on the North side of 71 and the south side as well. Good bucks on both places taken every year. They shot a nice 10 saturday morning. Good testament to AR's i believe. Been better and better every year since implemented.
Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

I do see pics of better deer every year since the ar's, so i guess theu are working. Dont know if it's because deer have to be a certain size now so when you shoot them they are nice bucks or if people were just embarrassed by the bucks before the ar??
