A little OT-Last year on my brother's place, I saw a black and white duck. I looked it up and identified it as a pintail drake. I get the idea they are pretty..um, foul fowl laugh. I've never hunted duck and eaten very little-and that was farm-raised.

Not many ducks come through there as it's on the fringe of major flyways. So given I could ID them pretty quickly, are they acceptable eating? Thanks in advance.

Amen

I rest my case.

In europe we have less species, but no limits.

I dont know which one i rather have...

But i do remember that day before my dad passed away where we shot
200 woodpigeons each on a saturday all day, followed the next day with 42 mallards for me and 68 mallards for my dad (sorry no pics).
Back then, to use live decoys was legal.

Nothing beats a stringer with 3 live mallards attached to it.

We used the same petmallards for years, and 2 of them even lived in one of our guides living room, it was hilarious...they were excited 2 ours prior to the hunt, just like the dogs.

I miss these days tremendously

His showroom is just unreal. It's his taxidermy studio but he also outfits hunts all over the world. His list would take about two pages.

I had a great time working with him and learned some new tricks for finishing wood ducks.
