I've never duck hunted but I am going to give it a go this season. I got my equipment, license, permit for corps land, a boat, so forth and so on. It'd be cool if an experienced hunter wanted to go with me. PM me if interested. I know how offended people get when they put in work on public land then people bring it up on a public forum. Happy hunting!

FYI, You want to avoid naming lakes

It just one of those rules guys here try to live by since a lot of folks put in a lot of time scouting lakes that some people don't even know you can hunt.

May edit to say hunting north Texas lakes

I normally post "I hear they are hammering them up there, you should go". In this guy's case he was respectful and correct in the way he asked for help. He gets a pass from the dogpile! I don't have a problem with asking about a lake and someone to show him the ropes. What I do have a problem with is "Hey I went with this guy and we hammered on lake Igottapee".Enjoy your season FatCat.

clap I'll call you later. I don't get phone service at the duck lease. I can't make the north run you were asking me about.

Tons of water little pressure tons of ducks and hunter reports "thick as flies"great place to learn to shoot ducks in the face. Oh I mean good luck with the 9,000 other metromess duck commanders.

Yea, Wayne, I too see nothing in his question that anyone does not already know. Lavon is an old lake and on the map, in the corps hunting pdf link from the sticky at the top of the forum, and daily hunting reports posted by people on DUs website migration map that are mostly bogus because they are really hunting another nearby lake. No secret about Lavon. For reasons already stated, definately not my favorite lake to hunt and too far for me to be worth driving to. So I'm no help. Good luck Fat Cat. Best advice is to ignor or play along with the expected troll bait responses that like to bump threads with lake names to the top. It's all in good fun, but you might be surprised and still get a pm from someone nearby that hunts it.

Don't see where I can edit the lake name. I can see that I'll just have to follow posts, spend time on the water and learn the ropes. Probably going to have to go on a guided hunt to pay for the education. Happy hunting.

Any lake in Texas has birds! Just got to put the time in to find them.

Cheers to Family, Friends and Ducks
