First season in Montague County (Saint Jo). Most information shows "Cross Timber" area as full rut 11-3 thru 11-17. Haven't seen any action yet, anyone else? Trying to decide if need to take a little vacation next week.

I'm real close to the edge of Jack and Montague, just west of Amon Carter Lake. Haven't seen many signs of a full on rut, pre-rut is what going on at our place. But haven't been up there in 5 days so who knows.

My game cams show that the buck bands have broken up. And, I've seen chasing but the does don't seem ready.

I agree. Digging out my cold weather gear as we speak.

Supposed to be a lot of rain tomorrow.
Virtually no deer are coming to corn on my place. OK, a few are coming at night but that's about it. I assume acorns and I have plenty.

Yes, I am seeing rut in Stephens County, just North of Breckenridge. We called in 3 bucks, and saw several good bucks chasing does hard.

My oldest rattled in an 8 pt. Saturday morning in NW Montague County. In Throckmorton Co. they're coming to the horns nearly every time we set up and rattle. No shooters yet.

We hunted over 2 wheat fields that have feeders in them and had 5 bucks total come in to the feeders. They ran the does off and stayed at the feeders till dark. They were all small bucks but didn't seem interested in the girls at all. 4, 5, 8 and 10 pt. and a nubbin. Kind of an odd evening.
