I've been hunting all of my life and was finally able to shoot a trophy buck. This was the first buck I've shot in 15 years with the exception of a buck a friend let me shoot on his high fence ranch last year. I didn't expect to see anything since it was so hot that afternoon and I had not seen him before on my game cam. I had some serious buck fever going on... heart pounding and my hands were shaking. I thought I pulled the shot and missed. I'm still smiling ear to ear and can't believe I finally got one. According to the taxi, he's 5.5 years old and he eyeballed him at 135 maybe a few points more. I'll have the official score once the mount is finished. Do you guys think he's around 135 or so?

I think he will bust 135. His brows and G4s hurt him, but he has a killer frame and looks like he carries his mass out pretty well in the 1st picture. Great buck, congrats.

Hank, I'd eyeball score him in the mid 130s to low 140s. I also hunt Young county, out of curiosity what part of the county were you hunting? Was he chasing does or anything? I'm out there this weekend and this gives me some motivation to say the least. Great buck!

DQ- My lease is in eliasville close to 1974. The bucks weren't chasing the does yet. I did have some other nice bucks on my game cam that were bigger than the bucks I had seen the last few years out there. I think all the rain we had in the spring really helped. There were a few does hitting the feeder in the morning and one small 8 in the afternoon before my buck came out. Good luck this weekend.

to field judge quickly .....add the visible uprights on one side
g2 g3 g4 .....double it and add 85 ....you will be very close to the score of the buck if he is symetrical ....
looks like he has 8 to 9 inch g2 g3 with a 4 inch g4
so 16 or 18 plus 4 x 2 = 40 or 44 + 85 = 125 to 129 ....
so in answer to the question ,,,yes he is close to that 135
