I took Dramamine the night before and the morning we went out and still got sick. It sure wasnt psychological I was kind of excited to see how many would get sea sick because I was sure I wouldnt. Darned if I know why lol. I will say again that I dont care how many times I have been sick in my life, I have never experienced a sickness like that. I talked to a lady today who said she has been sea sick and child birth wasnt even that bad hehe.

Ol sharkey's! I would not reccomend a night there and then off shore in the morning! That will be the last time you ever go off shore! The fish are turning on here in East Bay...we caught about 20+ last weekend!

we got out of there at about 2 am, went to another party, left there about 4, rolled to a hotel room, watched some springer and drank a sprite, rolled to whataburger and was on the boat at 6am feeling like a million bucks. 15 minutes later and a half-mile outside the jetties, puking my guts out.
gonna be a good story to tell the grandkids

I paid $200.00 for me and my Son to go out on the Scat Cat (fishing boat) on a 12 hour fishing trip.
CRAP MAN... When we were PMing about Port A, I thought you were a pro... I just got back myself and we used Deep Sea Headquarters... They run an EXCELLENT operation.
Sorry you guys had a bunk time out there.

I realize how very lucky I am...knock on wood...I haven't been sick...yet! But Like CrazyHorse says....your number could come up any day. I've been on many, many off-shore trips with Dolphin Docks, Scatcat, and Deep Sea Headquarters down in Port Aransas. I have to admit I've had "that feeling" a few times when heading out....but I was able to shake it off. We take dramamine the night before and again in the morning. We're always careful to eat a light breakfast (toast and cereal) No eggs, bacon, taquitos etc...In other words, stay away from the Whataburger across the street!! Me and Dad always joke about sitting down next to someone who looks like they might blow chunks at any second...and then open up a can of smoked oysters and a carton of buttermilk right in front of them If that doesn't get them to nothing will

You can never go wrong with Deep Sea. My guide is located out of those docks and we love the place.

Agreed. John Brennan is one of the best Captains in the Port A area. Tim on the Dolphin Express ain't bad either. Their boat fleet is just too old and too damn slow. John at Deep Sea (Pelican) or Tim at Dolphin Docks (Dolphin Express) are the two best out of Port Aransas in my opinion. Stay away from the Scat/Wharf boats. Electric reels??? Give me a break!! Deckhands are usually a-holes as well.

I know how you feel when you said you took dramamine and it didn't help. I was in Destin florida fishing and I took it. I got sick and slept the rest of the time. it wasn't pretty.

It is crazy how it hits you. My wife and I went to Mazatlan. 30 miles offshore day 1 10 hrs. no prob. Inshore 8 hrs. second day no prob. Went to El Salto 3rd day and I felt it first 2 hrs. then was fine.
