You won't see any trophies here, but mainly because it got too dark by the time the only "trophy" showed himself. I hadn't planned to hunt, but I read a thread here on the THF about buck movement in my area, so I decided to head out for the evening. I recently got a new camera and while I always have dreams of a bit trophy, I really had no intentions of harvesting any animals. I got in the stand about 3pm. It was a nice afternoon, if not a bit warm, but I soon started seeing all types of animals, just not deer. The feeder went off at 4:55 and at 5pm a little fawn showed up, followed by a doe, then a young buck. For the next hour-plus, I got to watch them run all around me. There was some definite pre-rut activity and I took a few photo's of them. That young buck was chasing that doe everywhere, even running her into my truck 75 yards behind me. I was so focused on getting her picture next to my truck that I didn't notice the 5 other bucks that had showed up. I literally had them 360 degrees around my open-air tripod. I saw a total of 5 bucks, including a nice young 10 point that should become a great buck if he gets to grow up. About 5:55 a massive old 6 point came out. I'd call him either mature or post-mature and I'm still kicking myself for not taking him. He had some kickers and might be 10 total points, but a mainframe 6 with some incredible mass. Pretty obvious the bucks haven't started fighting as this brute will definite be breaking up some of the others I saw. Anyway, here are some pictures from my place. Pretty good photos considering the deer were up to 100 yards away during some of the shots. The fawn: The Doe: The young 6 point (Romeo): Doe at the truck: Young Buck near truck, figuring out I was there after running around me for an hour. He still didn't leave until I got down: Picture of my feeder from 110 yards away. Hoping to get some cool photo's this year. Tried to get the doe in mid-air as she jumped the fence, but was a bit late on the trigger: One of the nice young bucks I saw, though from the game camera the night before: All in all, a great time in the stand. Also, a time in the stand I wouldn't have had if not for the THF. I had hunted Saturday morning about 1,000 yards from this stand in a grove of oak trees and got blanked. Sure glad I saw a post about some afternoon movement.

that feeder fence looks like a death trap! It's got some years on it, huh? Cheap $99 feeder that I bought maybe 8 years ago that has been the most reliable of all my feeders. Funny how that works. How about the fence? A leaser put that up a few years ago (a guy we leased to for cows, we don't lease our hunting) and I just kind of chuckled the first time I saw it. Definitely some work needed around that spot, but if it ain't broke no reason to fix it.

Kenny, what kind of camera did you take these with? I am looking for a new one myself. It's a Panasonic Lumix with 20X zoom. Very easy to use. Picked it up at Costco. Actually bought it to use at work, but have been very impressed with the picture quality, so I took it out to the field. Best part is that it easily fits in my pocket. We have a couple of very nice cameras, but they are bulky. Frankly, I don't know that the pictures are any better than they are with this one.
