Dense fog ALL morning killed us but we still managed a few  My 13 yo boy, Bart got the nod today over my pup for the opener. Easy call as this will be Bart's last duck opener. This season is his farewell tour. Gonna take him every chance he is feeling up to it. Gonna miss having him by my side when that time comes. Til then we gonna keep stringin em up together.

Me and a bud just sat on the ground against a log, short sleeve shirts, and shot 1 shy of 2 man limit. We passed on a lot of shots, picking up the deeks pintails started pouring in, saw one flock of pintails must have been 100 of them.

There were so many birds we could have shot a 10 man limit with no brush cover. We just sat on the ground next to stumps. I think we are going to have a great year. Come on weather!! 6 man limit in under an hour. Mostly teal, but had spoonies and blue bills.

I had a good opener.
Went out by myself on my first kayak hunt with me and Daisy. Met two guys at the parking lot and they were going the same way so we hunted the same area.
I left around 10 to get back for family commitments and had 2 BWT and the other two guys had 3 BWT and Gadwall. I should of had a Gadwall too but passed on a borderline passing shot that never came back around.
No pics that wouldn't give it away but I had a great time and Daisy got in a few retrieves. My wife commented on her being sore the next day, I think she's getting to middle age.
