Why do people feel the need to get to their lease Friday afternoon before opening.g day and shoot 200+ rounds of ammo all over the place?? What a bunch of idiots! I sooooo wanna go over there kick someone's arse. I'm not kidding their has been at least 200 rounds and still going.........

The guys by my lease shoot every weekend. The deer do not seem to mind, but hey if they run the deer off their lease onto yours, you should be happy maybe buy them some more ammo.

Now if this is on your lease, well then that is an issue. You should have a little talk to them...

My neighbor starting shooting opening morning 2 years ago, I called to see if he had "got the whole dam herd", said he was sighting in his 30-30??? totally mind boggling.

It gets better, about 15 years ago we had a new bunch in our north pasture. The opening morning sounded like they were was a war going on. Then it got quiet until about noon, and the shooting started again. Finally my curiosity got me and I drove to the house on that pasture. Told them we had heard the shots that morning and asked how they did, the answer. "We missed, so now we are trying get sighted in." We went back to our place and loaded our stuff and headed back to Abilene. Last time we leased that pasture.

That's what some city folks do when you turn 'em loose in the country with a gun. Kinda like a simpleton in a room full of bouncy balls.

Where we hunt it pretty well sounds like Kosovo all season long, doesn't bother the deer at all. I've shot deer and then had to run off their buddies so I could go gut 'em. Don't let it get to ya.

I hunted on one of the military bases and they had a range where they practiced every day and a lot of M-60 and full auto for several hours beginning early in the morning.
The deer didn't mind, and in fact the area that held most of the deer was the area known as the impact area that was off limits directly behind the ranges.

Over the past 40 or so yrs. I've watched a lot of the above and have always thought it somewhat interesting..Most of the bunch that go to the lease with multiple weapons..new scopes and rifles
(usually cheap) will not spend any money at a range to properly zero their weapons until they missed or wounded several animals.
Gunfire usually doesn't bother animals once they get used to it..I have given folks doe tags at Rifle Ranges who were shooting
touching hole groups at 200yds in yrs. past and seen them miss a
85lb doe at less than a 100yds off a bench rest. Good shots aren't always good hunters. I know that the conduct of many is less than appealing, and it seems there are more around Nat'l Forest, ect where they are not paying a large lease fee..The past
20 or so yrs I've been around leases where hunters paid 2500 to $7,000 up for one deer and seen a lot of them wound animals also..but usually with better weapons..I guess all of this is like how folks order in a Rest. each to his own..I'm still learning..DD

Not everyone knows about this forum and so they haven't picked up important tips like sight in your rifle at a rifle range before you get to deer camp.

LOL, when you lease or own the land where they are shooting, then you can make the rules there.

Sort of reminds me of people who buy a piece of property because they like the view and then get upset and even sue when the "view" gets developed. They didn't buy the view, but think they own it.

Fellow hunter I've been in your shoes before , as well as mostly everyone else .. It is discouraging and it'll p••• you off . But for the most part I've noticed that most deer need movement with the sound to bother them . There's been so many times that the duck hunter around me are shooting the heck out of some birds but I see deer just acting like they don't hear a thang .

And the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey said. After all that shooting and carrying on, they most likely not see many (if any) deer. The hunters will then put the blame on the land owner. Usually accusing them of allowing other groups of hunters in after them, to kill all the deer they've been passing on. If not that they'll blame it on predators or poaching. Some ol fellow running his poor old coon hound around the country might even get the blame.

We shoot here at home all the time. The deer are used to it and often don't leave the corn after a shot, if so only for a short time. However, if you don't think they know when something is up, then your crazy. If we corn the roads in a different truck they are even a little leary. I have to believe that if the shooting goes from 0-200 rounds in one day. The deer will shut down. They'll become nocturnal and only move a limited time even then. Either that or theyll simply change country.

I guess thats sort of a long way of saying, yes, I agree. But I'm going to use the word ignorant, because they simply don't know any better.
