Waaaaaaay more people out scouting today than I have ever seen before. Secret holes I haven't seen a boat in in 5 years have boats running around, and I even found a hole that had decoys out at 3 in the afternoon today. I'm not happy happy happy.

Go back to deer hunting you posers!!!

People that put out a dozen ugly flambeau mallards at 3 in the afternoon are not respecting anything

Sounds like someone is either giving out free decoys OR is starting your spread early... How nice of them

Boys all I can tell ya is you better start saving some vacation so you can hunt during the weekdays. My thoughts have been that the weekend hunt is about to be a lot more crowded and it looks like that is going to play out just like I thought it would. I can hunt Monday through Thursday on the Barney and may not see another hunter and may only hear 2 or 3 hunting parties at a distance. The last time I tried to hunt on a Saturday morning I walked in to one of the more popular holes on the northwest end of the lake and there must have been hunters every 50 yards or less in any direction. I spun my butt around and walked right back to the truck and went to the house. I think it is safe to say its going to be worse in the morning...........

I have to throw a red flag there!!!! Don't worry, the duck gods will get them in the end. I'm hunting public in the morning, but I hope to be far from the spectacle.

Only hunt public Mon-Fri. and I dont do it cause I have to, I just like how you can call more on large public lakes compared to a 9-10 acre pond were they are going to cup in anyway.

That too. I like having the ability to call in ducks I can't see. You can't do that on smaller bodies of water....

I've got way too much to do tomorrow so I'm going to enjoy sleeping in.

I'll be out fighting the crowds on Sunday though. Heading an hour north to a lake I haven't hunted. Leaving at 4:00....think it's a little late because it's one of the ridiculously crowded ones, but I'm going with a buddy and a guy he knows so I don't have much say. Will be a blast regardless...ready to watch that sun come up and hear those wings overhead.

Seen lots of "new" duck boats today...way more than years past on the newbies. Going to be a circus out there. Y'all stay safe

Another advantage to hunting the weekdays. When most guys are waiting on LST I'll be resting comfortably in my bed. On the mid week hunt my body seems to just take it as another day at work but the mind absolutely enjoys it.....I know when I was hunting weekends only, by the time I hit the end of the second segment I was extremely worn down and fatigued. I needed a vacation just to get caught up on my rest.......

I've been scouting daily for about the past 2 months. I'm not going tomorrow, haven't seen much around here worth getting out for, besides some Gadwalls. I'm sure there're some people that'll say different though. Still too warm around here.

Maybe they had enough already. I hunted a crowded public lake Saturday, there were 9 trailers at the ramp I used, we limited out in 25 minutes. Went to the same ramp this AM and only one trailer there. Wow, that did not last long, we limited out again.
