There's nothing like the rush you get when a deer comes in real close within bow range!!!

Both for me. I usually bow hunt some during rifle season.

Silver spurs and gold tequila

Bow for one reason. I've killed a lot of deer with a rifle. And haven't laid anything down with a bow. Actually I've missed 3 times this year with a bow. Dead on shooting at a target. But when It comes show time I miss. 2 hogs missed and a doe missed. All were within 30 yards. I know easy shots.

I agree, I spend most of/over half of my hunting life shooting deer at 30 yards... just not with a rifle, you gotta be quiet.

Bow.. I'm bored with rifle hunting, unless it's long range stuff

I enjoy both!
I started out in my younger days with the gun and I was intrigued with the bow way before Texas had a bow season for deer, (and yes I'm that old) starting out with a longbow then recurve and then compound and today I use a crossbow for obvious reasons. I put the crossbow down when gun season comes around and I pick up my 45-70 single shot. I just stretch my range by a few yards using the gun though, and still get close.
I bow hunted exclusively for sixteen seasons while my guns collected dust so old habits are hard t break!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Favorite is bow because of challenge. I stalk I stead of tree stand. I just can't sit for long periods of time. Plus in Kansas the season is 3 months not just week and half for rifle.

Used to be all bow. Now I am too lazy, shooting them with my rifle is a lot easier.

I prefer my bow, however I haven't only killed 3 bucks in my life and I will be in my rifle stand Saturday morning.

My camera pics will help decide the rest of the season where I hunt depending on if I can close the deal on my buck of the season.

I love to Bow hunt and have killed some realy cool stuff with a bow, but bowhunting the texas brush country with a bow for whitetails is something that has always frustrated me. Its nearly impossible to spot and stalk the ranches I have hunted and its also near impossible to get high enough to avoid getting winded no matter how much money I spend on stuff to descent me and my gear. I have killed deer with my bow but never anything good and have had way more hunts ruined by deer winding me than anything else, just seems kind of fruitless. On the flip side I have climbed 5,000 ft mountains and killed Dall sheep, bear, moose and caribou with a bow and thats really a lot of hard work followed by a heck of a rush!

Bow, last deer (buck) I shot with a rifle was 180 yd shot and that's all it was a rifle shot. It was good shot but I didn't get the heart hammering thrill I do when they are a 12 yds like the doe I killed last weekend. So as long as I'm able I'll stick to my bow.

Nothing like the thrill of having deer come within 10-20 yards from you and stick one with a bow! I understand we have come a long way with the technology in bow hunting but it is still ultimate to get the harvest with a bow. Not hating on using a rifle for meat though! Good luck to all of you this season!

Never shot a deer with a bow but have shot a trailer load of hogs, really gets your blood pumping to get within 15 or 20 yards and draw back on one

I love bowhunting. Just started back hunting 3 years ago after a 15 year hiatus.I had become bored with rifle hunting. Hunting with a bow made it fun again.

Except being 10-20 yards from a 600 lb grizzly bear and hiding behind your bow and a 3ft spruce tree hoping like hell he wont see you! Please give me shot.....please give me a shot....and then having your mechanical rest malfunction and you miss him cleaner than [censored] at 20 yards but now he's dialed in on you. Thats a meet your maker moment if I have ever had one! The coolest part about bow hunting is the connection with the animal at close range, no glass between you and him or her.
