Got down out of the bow stand saturday morning and was headed back to the truck. I park several hundred yards away and walk to the stand. On the way back to the truck, I rounded a corner and saw an awful big cat coming down out of a tree. All I had was my bow. Bad thing is, I had to walk within 20yarsd past that tree to get to the truck. To say the least, I was a bit hesistant. I have encountered many things in the woods, but never a mountain lion. There was no game plan, just pretty much panic..lol

He came out of the tree and off into the woods. I guessed I spooked him. They say that they are usually more scared of you than you are of them, but this morning, I'd highly disagree. Yes, it could have been the smell that prevented the attack..lol

I hope not. We are in coleman county and seems like a few cats have been seen this year. Supposed to have a guy calling us back that has some dogs. thought about staking a baby goat out and setting in the stand.

Well we laid off of that stand Sunday morning. Its gonna be a lil sketchy for a bit I'm sure. I will prolly be contributing to the hibbie jibbie thread before lolng.

You don't have to have a CHL to carry a handgun when bowhunting and even if you did, carry a handgun when bowhunting. I learned my lesson 10 years ago when I walked right on top of a litter of pigs and mom bout 10 yards away. I was in shape then thank God.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?
