My reloading equipment didn't fair my last move and now I'm pretty much having to start over. My question is, what scale do ya'll use? I've used the RCBS scale and that one would start to go crazy after being on for a little bit, almost like it was getting overheated. I have my old balance beam scale but, talk about time consuming. Any help would be greatly welcomed.

I use a good RCBS powder measure, usually drops close enough. On the big stuff I still drop the charge, but place it on my balance beam and use a foot control to power my electric trickler that finishes off the load instantly. It's fast enough to load 50 rounds pretty quickly. For digital, I use a Pact scale that I sent back for repair awhile back. Send your scale back to RCBS, they'll fix it.

Made by Lyman. Can't remember the model # off the top of my head but I am very pleased with them.

Your RCBS scale needs about 20-30 minutes to warm up before you use it. If you turn it on and begind weighing charges, it will wonder around on you until it warms up. Also, keep it away from florescent lights. And a HUGE no no, is keeping your cell phone near the machine. The cell signals will interfere with the electronics and cause it to not weigh accurately. Try letting it heat up for 20-30 minutes, and I bet this will solve your issue. I never turn my electronic scales off, unless they will not be used for a long period.
I use an RCBS charge master, and transfer the charge to an AccuLab scale to trickle and fine tune the charge. It is accurate to .02 grains, which is about 1 kernel of gunpowder. It's very accurate and fast.

I have several balance beam RCBS scales and a Lyman Dps III, powder dispenser...I use it when loading a tray, but if I'm working up loads and only loading about a box, I use the balance beams and don't have to wait on the 30 min warmup..I've checked them against each other and they are so close as not to matter. And I always wgt'd every round even on the balance beam..not throw a lot and check them..Not much point in loading like the factory in handloads..DD

I use an RCBS 10-10 scale. Fasr and accurate and I prefer it over digital scales

I finally broke down last year and got one of those that throws the desired charge and then automatically trickles to the charge you want to use. Mine is a Lyman 1200, and I'm not going back to my RCBS 1010, Lyman 55, and hand powered trickler. This Lyman is so fast and easy that reloading has become even more fun. Get one and see what I mean.
I haven't used it on pistol loads, so I might stick with the Lyman 55 for throwing those small charges.
