Normal,same thing as molting, if it was the mange it wouldn't clear up this winter, bet it does. The bump could be a thorn or anything! I'd bet the camera date is wrong also !

Lepotena mazamae "deer ked" or Deer Tick, its actually a Wingless Fly and is about an 1/8th of an inch, causes skin irritation and hair loss as these are blood feeders. I have shot deer with them before, meat is fine just skin them out.

The question I have is will it affect her getting "dates" this fall?
It will if you don't feed lots of fermented corn...
