How many dads/moms, step dads/step moms, uncles/aunts, grandads/grandmas taking the kids hunting this weekend? I'm taking a few kids and for 2 of them it's the first time to take a shot at a real deer. I can see the excitement brewing every time I talk to them. I'm excited myself.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I will be out there with my 12 year old son. Hoping to get his first buck this year.

I am taking my 8 year old the 16th. Due to football we can't make opening weekend. He will be going with me every trip this year. Hopefully he will get his first doe this year. We both cannot wait to finish up football season and enjoy hunting. Super excited for this season to start.

My brother and I are having a Youth Deer hunt with the kids, 5 of them between 7 and 12. Going to be pretty fun. I hope to have some deer pics to post. These guys have been practicing since april and are raring to go.

Does it count if your kid is 38 years old?

I'm taking my 10yo son for his first chance at a deer. I know he wants a buck, but I'm willing to bet he will shoot a doe as well. Good luck to all going this weekend and God Bless. Hunting is a Tradition we need to pass on....

Taking my 10yr old son out Saturday morning. Got a baseball tourney in the afternoon. Hoping they do well so we have a pm game on Sunday and can get in a hunt Sunday AM as well. Just ready to sit in the stand with my favorite hunting partner.

Of course it counts. If he's like me he probably enjoys hunting with Dad. There will be 3 generations on our place this weekend. Does it count if your kid is 38 years old?

Taking my now 11 yr old. He is 2 for 2 on youth hunts, so we will see if he can keep the streak alive. Good Luck everyone.

Taking the 12 & 15 year old grandsons this weekend. The 15 year old just sprained his "shooting wrist" in gym yesterday. I was counting on his help for some heavy lifting. Fortunately, I have winches & hoists. I hope he can at least be in shooting form.
They both got deer last year. The younger one is anxious to get a hog.

Yep, we will be at the lease this weekend with my 14yo son. Hope he gets to take a hog or two (we are low on pork!) and maybe put the hit on those turkeys we've been seeing a lot of. It is going to be a nice weekend. High's on the upper 50's in llano on Sat, and no burn ban. Good campfire weather!

Taking my 10 year old son out for a Saturday evening and Sunday morning hunt. He has taken more and better deer off the place than I have, so I can't wait to see what he's presented with this weekend. However, he already said he's not worried about a bigger buck, if a spike or doe presents itself, well, BANG. It's going to be a nice weekend... Happy 3,000 to me!
