To all on a deer lease with others, what is your policy on hunting other members blinds? My situation is that I have 4 guys with 2-3 blinds each, trying to set a policy about hunting others stands.

Thanks!!

We hunt our own areas. One mature buck (8 or better) doe and spike per area so no point to switching stands.

We use to require permission to hunt someone else's stand till Thanksgiving. After that you could hunt where you want as long as you kept the other persons stand clean.

That has since changed, were all good friends and all the areas are about equal so now it's hunt where you want to. We all share the feed cost for the whole ranch and all have the same set up as far as quality of stand and number of feeders.

We have 9 hunters and 19 blinds. (All pitched in 2 with one spare). They're community property once deer season comes. We do a draft each night for stands and it works great. We're excited when someone shoots a nice deer. No animosity.

Ours is family style. Each blind/feeder area is numbered. We hav a sign out board first come first choice. You may move to another location any time it is not occupied but you must sign out first or contact someone at the camp that will.

We all built our own blinds & keep our own feeders full. We share with permission which is freely granted as long as it is reasonable.

My blinds are locked. I keep propane tanks & a heater in them along with a pee jug & bug spray & scent eliminator. I want them full enough for a hunt when I get there or at least a heads up that something got used.

I have two leases near each other. The above applies to one. The other has exclusive assigned areas & we don't hunt each others unless invited to do so.

If u have permission to hunt someone else's blind that's great!!! But when u shoot a buck that has been on that hunters hit list it's going to create animosity no matter what. I know for a fact that if I got into my uncle in laws blind and shot the 5 yr old tall 8 he's been seeing he would have a coronary! I think if u take the time to scout your area plant your food plot/ put up a feeder that's your spot no one else's. if you r going to let someone hunt ur spot better make darn sure they have an understanding of what they can and cannot shot!

We all share stands on our place. Each man has a couple spots he is responsible for maintaining, and he has dibs on that spot if he wishes. But, if he doesn't take it or he's not there its open. We are a team in everything we do and I personally would not do it any other way. That, and I love the change of setup/scenery from stand to stand.

We share a lot of the work and help each other out a lot, but have our own stands and feeders. That being said, we are very liberal when it comes to hunting each other's stands. Our general (unwritten) rule is that after a person takes their buck, that stand is now open for anyone. We have had years when 3 bucks were taken from the same stand. We have been hunting together for years and years and there is no animosity in our camp. When somebody kills a deer (any deer no matter what) we celebrate! Makes it really enjoyable. The comradary is the best part of the lease hunting experience in my opinion. Would not trade it for the world. I could probably move to a lease that produces bigger / better deer, but I would never leave the group of guys I hunt with and we love our current set-up.

Secede!!

We work together, but your stand and area is just that. We used to have a rule that you didn't even ask until after Thanksgiving weekend, or the primary hunter shot "his" buck.

Now its pretty much, "hey, my stand is open, just give me a heads up and keep it clean" or you can ask anytime.

A lot of our lease members live too far to go every weekend. Each person has their own blind and nobody else can hunt it until the owner has sat it one hunt then it's free game.

Hunt another's stand by permission. However, we also have a "Do Not Shoot" list. If there's a particular buck at your stand that you don't want anyone to shoot, you can post a pic or a good description of the buck in your stand. Anyone else that hunts that stand must honor the stand's owner's request.

If that buck wanders over to someone else's stand he's fair game. The list only applies to that one stand.

We all share. Opening weekend we will hunt "ours". We all maintain all the feeders, work on all the stands, etc. We hunt 400 acres so a lot of times we are seeing the same deer on our cameras. Just hope your sitting in the right place at the right time!

Each hunter has their own blind with some 'senior' members have 2 blinds. We allow others to hunt other members blinds with permission but they are not allowed to take any bucks from another members blind until that person has shot a buck.

For the most part I would say 90% of the time people stay in their own blinds (I know I do). The only time we switch blinds is to get some pigs or shot a doe. Personally the only blinds I hunt other than my own are my dad's and brothers for a change of scenery

Years ago we had a lease around Junction,we had the similar agreement. All stands were numbered, had a peg board with 15 shell casings numbered accordingly and if you got there before anyone else and went hunting you took the appropriate number casing a put it in the slot of the stand you were in at that time so others knew where you were at and could go to another stand without distrubing your hunt.

We each hunt our "own" area. There are 4 of us on the lease and we don't have a written rule per say. We each put up our own stands and feeders and supply the corn. Now if 2 of the other members asked to hunt my stand then I'd let them in a heart beat. The fourth member I'd probably ask not to hunt it. He doesn't participate in lease clean up and really is only there for himself and not for the group as a whole. Not a bad guy but just not my first pick on who I'd like to hunt with.

We just try and use common courtesy when hunting. If you ask me to use my stand then there's a 99% chance that I'll say yes. Same goes for the other two guys. But we all have great stands so I don't see that happening too much.

Was always on leases where I had multiple blinds (2 or 3) and could hop around in my climber as long as i was 400yds away from someones stand/feeder/foodplot....or had a designated area of a few hundred acres to put as many stands on as I felt was necessary on one lease. The rule was always stay out of other people's set ups unless you had permission or be kicked off the lease with no refund.

Ours is by permission only for bow hunting, open stand policy during rifle season. To hunt a feeder, you must have a working feeder...to hunt a tower, you must have a tower. You get first choice to your stand, but if you hunt somewhere else or are not there, your stand is first come, first serve.

The guys on my lease are pretty easy going...they all say we can hunt each other blinds so its not to much of a big deal... i wnt hunt anyone elses blinds mainly because its just the way i feel about it...they put their time and effort into it and i will respect that... i tell them they can hunt mine but i only bow hunt and put a lock on stand WAY up the trees....needles to say the others are all older fellas that arnt gona put that much effort into getting in my stand.

I set up ground blinds in different areas for folks like my dad & ex GFs grandpa who got me on that lease. I'd find an old logging rd down in the bottom and corn 300yds of it running through the hardwoods so I wouldnt have to worry about them not seeing deer.

We share on our lease. That being said. I have ground blinds all over the place that usually hunt very small and unique pieces of terrain that most of the other hunters wouldn't want to visit. They all hunt their boxes and feeders and I seldom hunt near a feeder so its really not an issue to me but we do share.
