Seems the rut here in this area may be starting. The last three nights and evenings Ive had several doe on camera and about 20 min after they leave here come the Bucks sniffing and not staying long to follow the doe. Also the other night watched a small buck chasing a doe on the side of the road. Just letting fellow hunters in this area know.. Im Happy happy happy

That's good news. We will be hunting next weekend. We will see what's going on on our lease is Anderson. Good luck to you.

Guys, I'm from over there, and used to hunt Anderson almost as much as Cherokee and we have several ruts a yr. no one even realizes. My does in Pipe Creek still have a lot of little fawns and up to a wk ago some still had spots..they only carry babies so long so that means they had to have breed well after season ended. Others a already yearlings and were born early..I had about 20 in the horse trap last nite when I was out there and probably 4 or 5 fawns are less than 2 mos old..Don

I'll be there at Gus Engeling on Nov 8th. Hopefully a bunch of does will hold out till then to go hot.

I live about 15 min away from Gus Engeling, and there is some really good hunting out there. I got a buddy whose dad is a big dog out there, and I think it was 6 years ago and he killed a monster 160 class out there. Good luck to all.

Here in my area of central Texas I've seen groups of doe grazing and then have a buck show up and look at them or to sniff out the area where they had been walking, but the bucks haven't seemed more than mildly interested. I only see single bucks, so that's an indication that the rut is close, but I don't think that it has started getting fired up yet.

Havent seen any sign of rut and dont expect to see it until mid Novemer. There was an article in the Tyler paper last week concerning Gus Engeling. You may want to check it out.

Rusk County this weekend saw a giant chasing a doe twice in the same field and then I saw a button buck chasing as well. The big boys are walking!
