Feel your pain,,my dodge 2500 4x4 was stolen a couple of years back LOADED down with all my hunting gear, no guns. Found a day later trashed. They switched out plates to another dodge 2500. Get a good kill switch hidden,,,they work. Sorry for your loss.
THE ROAD GOES ON FOREVER AND THE PARTY NEVER ENDS.

Guy was going through his truck and all kinds of stuff was missing; guns, cash, radar detector, a pair of boots. Thieves assume there are all kinds of goodies in them... usually there is. I still don't understand why people leave stuff like that in their car. This is 2012...you have to assume that whatever is in your car could be gone the next time you walk up to it, day or night, especially if it can be seen. I don't even like leaving my sunglasses visible in my car lest a thief see them and decide he wants a new pair of Oakley's. So I stop by Cabela's or BPS or Academy on the way out of town for a hunting trip. I get my truck jacked and and all the gear for the hunting goes with it and its my fault??????? That's ridiculous. Should I load it up and take it in the store with me? I hate thieves as much as anyone else, but sorry to break it to you, man, but if you have all that stuff in your truck visible for a thief, then yes, it is your fault that they picked your truck to break into and not the guy next to you. Believe it or not, most thieves aren't stupid. They are opportunistic predators....if you give them an easy opportunity, then don't be surprised if they take advantage of it. I know that sucks to hear, but that's reality. And by the way, if I am going hunting I make all my stops before I go to specifically avoid this, and if I have a buddy with me, one of us ALWAYS stays in the truck while the other goes inside. I have had a car stolen before and two vehicles broken into, and the most they ever got from me was the change out of my ashtray.

Get an aftermarket alarm system and wire it up to a set of train horns. I promise someone will hear it when it goes off! When you honk the horn people pay attention and with the air compressor system on board you always have air at the lease.

Take into consideration, that the thieves know that hunting season is upon us. They are specifically targeting outdoor stores because they know that there will be guns in many of the vehicles.
Let's be honest, we aren't hard to spot. Especially if you have you ATV in the bed or on a trailer and the bed is loaded with corn and hunting supplies.
Just be mindful of this fact.
