The Welge Ranch is a 2200 acre high fence game ranch with their MLD permit that you hunt as your own! For $2,500 a hunter will spend 3 days to get ANY buck and doe of their choice while staying in the hunting cabin with H.D. TV. Henry and Conrad Welge provide breakfast and supper after your big hunt each day. The deer are cleaned and hung in cold storage before being quartered for your departure.

How many hunts do they do per season?

stxranchman we have to take a lot of deer off every year. @35 buck hunts is usually what we sale. Are MLD permits are usually 70 bucks and 70 doe. Bioligist says we are around deer per 5 acres. So we try to take the same number off the back end.

How many hunters max in camp at one time? When are hunts done (weekdays or weekends)?

We like to hunt the weekends but so have some hunters that prefer the week days. Your the customer we try to work around your schedule. We also like to have no more than six at a time but have had up to 10.

When do the most hunters show up or prefer to hunt as far as dates? When is deer movement the best, rut or early season?

November is a pretty good time to hunt with the rut going on. We have had a few rattle in some nice bucks but late season isnt bad either because they are coming to the feeders good. We just hope their horns arnt broke up.

We still have Thanksgiving weekend and one other weekend in November opened.

So being the slave labor/grunt/pack mule does have its priveleges. Man if I was not hunting Mule Deer in West Texas and going back to hunt ML in Kansas I would do a hunt. I like Hill Country deer.

Booked another hunt tonight and only need one more group (4-6 hunters) to fill the season on our trophy hunts. Come hunt with us, you will not be disappointed. Matter of fact the guy that hunted last weekend referred tonights group to us.
