Has anyone put solar powered motion detecting lights at your feeders? I just picked up a couple of these to test out this weekend. I have heard that pigs get used to the low intensity LED lights, but not sure how they will react to a bigger light like this. Or, maybe it would be better to attach to a tree and corn the area. I think I will construct a simple mount that I can easily mount and take down.

Let us know not a bad deal if it works decent.

I went this route once.....just once. For me there was not enough light to see by.

I did this solely to alert me when something is at the feeder. One thing that I do is put a red piece of plastic bag over the light so not to scare the animals.

That's exactly what I wanted it for. Just an indicator for movement without having to constantly scan. I'm thinking it will be perfect for feeders you can see from the house/lodge. That said, I'm thinking I will point the light away from the feeder towards me instead of at the ground.

That's a great idea. I wouldn't point it down toward critter. My experience hogs don't like sudden changes. But using it as your own signal is a great idea!

Yep, mine are pointed upward towards my blind. Funny, the first day I put them up a big 300# boar came in & seen the light on top of a t-post. He would not come in to the feeder & circled at about 50 yards twice then held up for over a hour. Finally came in to about 20 yards and just stood there looking at this NEW light looking up at it. Right there I realized just how smart a hog can be, noticing a light atop this post that wasn't there the night before. I put a .243 right below his ear.

I have used this same light for 2+ years. My light points toward the feeder and the deer, hogs and coons are not bothered by it. granted, does not give enough light to shoot a dark hog by but good to identify movement at the feeder.

I have mine on the tree next to my feeder. I bought it at lowes but dont remember exact model. It gives off enough light to be able to shoot something right under the feeder. The deer and hogs got used to it fairly quickly. But if you sitting there watching it, it will play tricks on you. Mine will come on every time a mouse runs by

I used 4 of the solar spotlights at one of my feeders. Since they are on all the time after dark, game got used to ti and wasn't spooked. Deer, hogs, coons, porcupines etc ll came in with no problems. On most nights it was plenty of light to shoot by with a good scope at about 50 yards.

I always left mine on the 5 because when there is something underneath feeder it gives me more time to acquire target, etc

I use something similar that I purchased from Harbor Freight for a little under $20. Mine doesn't put out a lot of light, but if something is standing within ten feet of the light it's enough to shoot even a dark colored hog. I mounted mine to a board which I bolted to a U-Post (similar to a T-Post) I've had it since the first of the year and it's still working. I may take it inside during the winter and just put it out when I'm hunting. It's a white light, but it doesn't seem to bother the hogs.

Be careful pointing it back toward the blind. You may not be able to see anything other than the light while looking through the scope. Happened to me. I pointed it at the feeder barrel just to alert me when they showed up.

Cory Lee speaks the truth! Even though mine's not extremely bright, if it's pointing at my position, I'm blind when it comes on. One time I set it up but then had to move when the wind shifted and the light was then facing my direction. I had to go move the light 'cuz I couldn't see ANYTHING but the light when it came on.
