My son has outgrown his Diamond Nuclear Ice bow, specifically in the draw length.

What are the recommendations for the next level of youth bow's? He was pulling back a little over 20#'s with no problem, so that would be my starting point on draw weight. If I go with another compound, I want something that will grow with him for several years to come.

My other thought was to get him a decent low end recurve to shoot but get us a crossbow for Christmas to hunt with.

Easy. Mission Craze. As low as 19" DL all the way up to 30", and pounds are 15-70 pull weight.

Two screws and its that easy to change DL with no press.

I shoot a Menace; wish they had made the craze when I bought mine.

Bear makes a bow that is 16 inch to 30 inch draw and 15 to 70 pound weight adjustment for 299 bare and 399 fully loaded.

The Matthews Craze I bought one for my son it's the sweetest dang bow I've ever seen he smoked a doe opening weekend with it . And you don't need a bow press to change the draw . And if your anywhere around Lampasas go to Nocked and Loaded its a great shop and they are great guys.

If you and your son were happy with the Nuclear Ice, take a look at the next step up in the Diamond line: the Infinite Edge

It has replaced the Razor Edge that they offered previously, and they have stepped it up quite a bit. I'm impressed with it, and I think that one may find its way under the tree for my daughter (who is outgrowing her Nuclear Ice)

I'm thinking of a black ops for her, and put a pink/green string set on it to match her other accessories that we'll transfer off her old bow. She's told me that she is ready to hunt, and this will be the tool to get her there.

Thanks for all the responses.

Question on the let off. The Craze shows to have an 80% let off. Is that at every poundage or just the high end of the draw weight?

I just bought my girlfriend the Bear Outbreak. It adjusts from 19-30 inches on the draw length and 15-70# on the weight. I bought her the package that retails for $399 off of ebay for $330 to my door. It is a sweet little bow that she will use for a year and then it will be passed down to her 10 year old son. Gonna get a lot of use out of it for sure. Check it out, you will not be disappointed. BASSHAWK

My oldest shoots the Craze and it is an awesome bow, can't go wrong with it.

On a side note, what are you gonna do with the Nuclear Ice? My 5 year old needs a bow.

I'd go with a razor edge, super easy to adjust, 15-30 or 30-60 lbs. 19-29 inch draw. If yoi go with the lighter poundage you can upgrade the limbs for like 75 bucks when.your ready

I'm pretty sure every poundage. Might want to check out the Menace too cuz Craze is a little heavier.

I bought my wife a PSE chaos bow, from a bow shop in S'ville. Its great for youth as well. Its set for 40lbs to 50lbs. My wife has barely shot it. We have a 18 mo old now and another on the way, so her hunting is put off for a awhile. Id be willing to sell it if your interested
