I'd like to know as well. We didn't go last year due to bad reports and ended up in Kansas...good hunt but it cost me a lot more money than I anticipated.

I hunt Floydada every year, including last year. According to the guys that live there that I hunt with, numbers are better than last year, but still not great. They had some hail during the summer that took out some of the cotton and a bunch of those fields got replanted in milo or corn. If you can find one of those, it should be pretty good.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

I have a friend in Plainview that says she is seeing them next to the country roads on most mornings and evenings. Not as many as when she was younger (10 years ago), but she said it should be enough for me to limit out the first two days on their families land!

Numbers are still WAY down from 5+ years ago around Petersburg. A few honeyholes hold some birds, but overall the population is pretty slim. Last year was pitiful - not expecting much better this year.

Thanks for all the replies.. I kinda figgered the numbers should be better than last yr. I don't think they could've been any worst.ha We did hunt last yr in petersburg and saw 4 hens and 1 rooster way off, so did not even pull a trigger. I know it has rained more this yr up there and the reply about the corn and milo planting is great news...thanks!!!
