I heard the price of deer corn was going to spike here soon due to a crappy harvest. Has anyone else heard this? The rumor is a 50lb bag of corn is going to go for 19.95...

Man if that happens there's going to be a lot of hungry deer running around this year.

Our ranch owner just bought 8tons for $16 100#. Last year at this time he only paid $13 a 100#, so it is definitely going up.

You can thank our government for the corn prices going up with that whole ethanol scam they came out with.

Actually I read that corn prices retreated somewhat. Harvests are coming in higher than they forecasted. Imagine that. It is all manipulated by futures buyers just like oil. As I say all it take s for oil to go up is for someone to fart in the Midddle East.

I did too! Wife wanted a bag to feed the deer at our place on Camp Creek. 1 bag for $7.50. I should have asked about discount for a ton or more.

Corn crops here were bad this year. Most got to about 3' tall and died. The farmers couldnt water because the lake where we get irrigation water is down to 12% capacity. Its almost dry! So they allowed one round of irrigation and that didnt help much. Most of the corn crops were lost.

I don't know if this is true or even possible but...

I talked to a man (here in TX) who grows corn and they have yet to sell this years harvest. They are expecting to get around $12 to $14 per bushel in December (according to him).

Who knows what the commodities market will do but right now it is saying there will be a long term rise in prices. (http://futures.tradingcharts.com/intraday/ZCZ12)

The price of corn futures first and formost is a bid from speculators. Secondly, it is influenced from the entire corn crop around the world. Third, we had the second largest harvest of all time world wide. Lastly, I would have sold when it was approaching $9.
