Okay, it's opening morning and at first light your feeder is covered up with pork. Do you hope they move along and wait for deer or give as many as you can dirt naps?

Depends on where I am hunting and which rifle made the trip to the stand. Sure like shooting a bunch of pork.

Shoot'em. If not they'll just come back and ruin another deer hunt.

Rule on my lease is NO pigs are allowed to leave if possible. If a monster buck is on his way to the feeder and I see him, of course I'm waiting, but if I'm just hoping for a chance at deer, pigs die.

Honestly I like to wait, but if little man is with me, it's a slaughter in the making

This past weekend i had a large boar come in@ just after 7 am. The deer that were there immediately gave ground and retreated to the protein feeder approx. 50 yds away. We ddo all we can to reduce our hog numbets so it was a no brainer. He went to hog heaven. Immediately went over and drug him away from feeder about 30 yds. till I ran out of breath. Heavy sucker. Walked back to stand and proceeded to keep head count on deer. They were back in 15 minutes or less. This has happened on other occasions. Hogs wont be back though I guess what Im saying is shootem and dragem off and continue hunting or watching

It depends on how many I line up for the first shot but I am not letting ruin another hunt.

On opening day because of the virgin ears to excessive gun shots I might wait and get them the second day Opening day and pre rut are my two favorite times for deer.

I shoot the pigs. If you dont they keep coming back.
Last year on opening morning I had a big old boar at my feeder before day light. I shot him once it got light enough to see and still saw plenty of good deer.

I won't shoot a pig while deer hunting. I have occasionally let my kids shoot at one. But with hog panels around my feeder they don't stay around long at all.
