My brother and I went to a deer lease to pre-season scout and he brought his 6 year old son along. That boy really got into it and had so much fun just being out there with us and soaking in everything we said about tracks and other deer sign. When he went home, he was telling his mother about all the deer sign he had seen and tried to describe it to his mother. Turns out, he was telling her about the road deer crossing signs he had seen and pointed out to us on the way back. To him, he had found deer sign too.

My twin girls are now 8, but last year they spent the fall trying to set rabbit traps (boxes with sticks) behind my mother in law's house and insisted they wanted to go rabbit hunting. I thought I would disuade them from actually killing one by showing them a youtube video of how we would skin it... Both of them stared at the computer screen watching as the rabbits were beheaded, gutted, and skinned.... At the end they both said, "Awesome, are you going to let us do that part or do you get to do it all by yourself?" Yeap...looks like I get to take them rabbit hunting.

I'd be a vegitarian too if bacon grew on trees.

LOL how well they pay attention to our words... Even if they are a little out of context...
